Double Digits

Miss Lydia turns 10 tomorrow. Wow. I mean, a whole decade as her mom? I know it'd be super funny to come here and talk about how impossible she is. How her attitude stinks, how she gets on my nerves, how needy and dependent she is and how I can't wait to marry her off to some guy with a summer home in Belize. But it's just not true. She's smart, and hilarious, and clever, and creative and strong. Maybe she's not mine. It's entirely possible that some super secret baby switching went on that day. But I'm not trying to figure it out. Because if she isn't mine, I'm still keeping her. She's awesome.

To kick off a week of celebrating her, here are a million photos. Cause that's what I do.

Friends, Formals, Fun!

This week I had the extreme pleasure of tagging along to a pre-8th grade formal photo op. It was a beautiful day full of beautiful kids, proud parents, flying cotton wood and cool shoes. I really love having the opportunity to participate in moments like this as they are so fleeting. I have many more photos from this day, but here is just a sneak peak of their evening. Enjoy!!

Hello Class of 2017!!

April 09, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

Believe it or not, it's that time of year...to start thinking about your senior photos. Senior photos are some of my favorites! It's an opportunity for me to get to know you and really showcase what you're all about and capture you in a real way...without altering your appearance or putting you in settings you'd never put yourself in. The whole idea is to look back at these photos and remember exactly how your life was at that time. I can't wait to work with this summer's seniors and see what we come up with!

It's a collaborative process. There is a lot of dialogue before we shoot so I know exactly what you want and you know exactly what I can provide. It's casual, comfortable and easy. You just show up with your clothes, a parent/friend/sibling/significant other to help you out, and I'll guide you through the rest.

This year I'm looking for a couple of senior representatives to spread the word about me at your school. If you volunteer as a rep and at least three people at your school book a senior session, your session is half off! But even better, if you get five seniors to book with me from your school your session is...wait for it...FREE! That should make your parents a little happy.

This year senior sessions will begin in July and go through October. My availability is limited, so be sure to get started early and lock in those dates because they will fill up fast. If you are interested in becoming a rep, please email me at [email protected], or text/call me at 419.343.1043. You can also message me on my facebook page (link on this website menu). I will only take 2-3 reps this year so please include a brief reason why you think you'd be a great representative.

I'm looking forward to working with you all! Enjoy these last weeks of your junior year! Work harder than you've ever worked. It will pay off in many ways.

Catch-Ups, Updates and Ramblings

I was glancing at the forecast and felt this glimmer of hope as, dare I say it, I SEE 60 PLUS DEGREES AND SUN!!!! Whaaaaaat?!?!?! So my brain went right to that bag of gear that's been collecting dust in my office and getting it ready for another season of photography. It's been a long winter and I'm ready to roll with spring.

A few things to share. First, new pricing and session details have been posted on my "Contact/Pricing" page. The big item to note here is that it's time to book those senior sessions for the class of 2017. I will only take 5 seniors this year due to time constraints so if you're interested, please get in touch soon so I can get you on the calendar for this summer.

Next big item to note is that I'm doing some serious jet setting this year. I'll be hitting up Chicago, Las Vegas, NYC, Lincoln City, Oregon and possibly a couple more locations. I'm not sure about schedules yet but I do know that I'd love to make some Oregon Coast magic happen on Friday, August 26th. So definitely hit me up if you're interested in that!

As far as ramblings go...lately I've been drawing a lot of inspiration from friendships. As I round the corner to 40 (say what?), the friendships I have are taking center stage in my life as I realize just how critical they are. I've been so crazy fortunate to have this unbelievable circle of friends and I'm looking forward to a year of celebrating friendships through my work and in my life. So if you have a friendship you want to capture in a unique way, please reach out to me. We'll come up with something amazing. So that's it for now. Hit me up. Let's do this.

Meet Finley Raine!!

December 13, 2015  •  2 Comments

This is Finley. My brand new niece. I just got back from a whirlwind trip to the San Francisco burbs to meet her and make sure I got lots of snuggles before the newborn stage was done. Finley is cool. She makes THE BEST faces. She even winked at me. I think it's because she's knows I keep an arsenal of humiliating stories about her dad.

Really, though. She is the sweetest little thing. And she's rocking a harness to help her hips settle in correctly. Doesn't even phase her. And I think it's adorable.

Yesterday was her 1 month birthday so we took some shots in her super awesome nursery. Many great details in there from custom quilts to bold patterns and a refinished rocker. Well done Taryn and Fern!!

I absolutely enjoyed my time with her and I cannot wait to get back and snuggle that lump again. Until next time little Fin :)
